The next four days are the perfect time to celebrate generosity in the animal rescue world.
Tuesday is National Day of Giving. This day was created in 2012, and it follows three days of shopping for the holidays: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Although National Day of Giving was created to inspire people to support and donate to organizations and those in need, we can do that the next four days as well. Here are a few small businesses that support animal rescue you can visit online or in person. Please consider them this holiday season for your gift giving.

Dog Lessons: Learning the Important Stuff from Our Best Friends
āWhen in doubt, walk your dogā is the first of many valuable maxims in Dog Lessons, a heartfelt reflection on what dogs can teach us when we open ourselves to listen and learn. After 60y-plus years living and working with dogs, Wilson shares self-deprecating stories and lighthearted musings on a life filled with fur-covered furniture, unexplained messes and destroyed property. The resulting compendium of dog wisdom ā from universal values like loyalty and curiosity to practical lessons on napping, playing, and avoiding a serious fight ā is not only poignant but eminently good advice.
Wilsonās book can be purchased on Amazon or at Collected Works, 202 Galisteo St.
